JANE GENTRY WHITT SLAUGHTER age 87, of 550 Younger Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Monday night, April 24, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Slaughter was born April 1, 1936 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late John Thomas Whitt, Jr. & the late Carolyn Virginia Gentry Whitt and was wife of 48 years to the late Carl Teague “Pete” Slaughter, Sr. She was retired from J.G. Hardison, previously worked at RPC Corp., and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Surviving are two children, Beverly S. Carver & husband, Brent of Roxboro, NC, Carl T. Slaughter, Jr. & wife, Kim of Semora, NC, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, two sisters, Johnsie Woody & husband, Charles, Glynda Carver & husband, Jackie, and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Slaughter is preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Darlene Riley, two sisters, Peggy Dickerson, Molly Briggs, and brother, J.T. Whitt.
