Fred passed away in 1975 and she later married Marvin Brubaker in 1995 and they lived in Dallas Center until Marvin’s death in 2006. Jane was born November 21, 1935, in Waukee, IA, to Peter and Mary (Nissly) Grove.
She graduated from Waukee High School in 1953. Jane married Fred Battles in 1958 and they made their home in Dallas Center where they raised their four children.
Jane enjoyed quilting and reading, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She was always up for an adventure and will be remembered for her sense of humor.
Jane is survived by her three daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Kiefer of Dallas Center, IA, Terri (Larry) Spray of Dallas Center, IA, and Beth (Kevin) Kruschwitz of Nevada, IA; son, Joe (June) Battles of Gilbert, IA; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, two stepdaughters, Debbie Gaston and Betsy (David) Pokorny; two brothers, Bill (Lois) Grove of McPherson, KS; Glenn (Joan) Grove of Council Bluffs, IA; sister Carolyn (Vern) Hrubes of Muscoda, WI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Fred Battles, and Marvin Brubaker; and sister, Maryann Anderson.
