Jane A. Knight, nee Pickering, 76, of O’Fallon, IL, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in O’Fallon, IL. Jane was born on March 13, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, she was a graduate of Southern Illinois University, undergraduate & masters. She was a former teacher with O’Fallon Community Consolidated School Dist. 90, principal at Grant School Dist. 110, Curriculum Director with Cahokia School Dist. 187, and Curriculum Consultant for Illinois State Board of Education. Jane was a member of the First Baptist Academy School review board and was instrumental for school accreditation; she also served as a teacher mentor. She was a founding member of the O’Fallon Boosters, and member of the Junior Woman’s Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband; O. Dene Knight, her parents; Alvin & Mary Elizabeth Pickering, nee Sullivan, and a brother; Glendle Pickering. Jane is survived by her children; Doug (Dianna) Knight of Willis, TX, Leslie (Jay) Zuber of O’Fallon, IL, grandchildren; Shelby (William) Cordova, Jacob Knight, Heath Zuber.
