Jan Lee “JL Snake” Cook II, 56. of Whetsell Settlement Community, passed away, Sunday, September 11, 2022, at his home. He was born in Kingwood, August 17, 1966, a son of the late Jan Lee Cook I and Linda Lou (Garlitz) Cook Peddicord. His wife Carolyn Lea (Goodwin) Cook survives. JL was a self-employed photographer, an avid snake handler, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature.

He also enjoyed golfing, cooking, playing horse shoes, and grilling, and spending time on his farm especially being with his family and friends. He was a 1985 graduate of Central Preston High School. He was a member of the Kingwood Fraternal Order of Eagles, Preston Country Club, and a member of the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Dept. He and his father were commissioned many times to photograph the Buckwheat Festival court and photographed many school and senior class pictures.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: daughter, Madison Lea Cook, Whetsell Settlement Community; son, Joshua Blosser and wife Sabrina, and their children, Braxton, Aliyah, Paisley, Cohen, and Tinley, of Albright; daughter Lindsey Gonzalez and husband John, and their children, Jonathan, Noah, and Arianna, of Ocala, FL; sister, Darby (Cook) McDowell and husband Harry and their children, Ian, Aaron, and Colin, of Cheat Lake; two step-brothers, Mike and Suzanne Peddicord, and their children, Moriah and Miranda, of Kingwood, and Jay Peddicord and wife Lisa, and their children, Jason and Abby, of Bruceton Mills; step- sister, Jill and Clark O’Dell, and their children, Bryan, Bethany, and Mallory, of West Palm Beach, FL; his mother-in-law, Martha Smith, of Ocala, FL; aunt, Shirley Meissner and husband Bob, of Kingwood; brother-in-law, Lloyd Goodwin and wife Elsie, and their children, Jacob and Jordon, of Beech Run; three sisters-in-law, Sue Goodwin and Chuck Parker, and their children, Mikaela and Delaney, of Valley Point, Joyce Goodwin and daughter Makenzie, of Preston, Candi Sisler and husband Bob, and their children, Hannah and Jeremy, of the Whetsell Settlement Community; great nephew Braxton; great niece Cataleya; many cousins, and many special friends. as JL never met a stranger and was always willing to give a helping hand.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, his step-father James Peddicord, and his father- in-law, Glenn Smith.
