On Friday, January 17, Jan Klepinger D’Alessandro, wife of Sal D’Alessandro, passed away in Denver at the age of 75. Jan was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on February 2, 1944, the daughter of Quinten and Donis Klepinger.

Jan attended Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming. She continued her education at The University of Wyoming and graduated in 1966 with a BA in English. She then taught junior high and high school English for many years.

Jan had two children, Robin and Tom Salvagio from her first marriage, then met Sal D’Alessandro in 1980. Sal and Jan were married at Jan’s parent’s cabin in Story, Wyoming. Later they bought a 40-acre farm near Elizabeth, Colorado. Jan’s passion was riding horses, and she participated in many three-day eventing competitions. In addition to her barn full of horses, Jan tended chickens, dogs and cats. Most of all, Jan had a great sense of humor, was a loving mother, wife and grandmother, and believed that one should “make and keep a few very good friends”.

She is survived by her husband, Sal D’Alessandro; her daughter, Robyn Salvagio, husband Sam; her son Tom Salvagio, wife Rachel, granddaughters Teagan and Dilan. Jan is also survived by Sal’s son David D’Alessandro, wife Angela Evenson D’Alessandro, Sal’s daughter, Jill D’Alessandro Ellsworth, husband Cameron Ellsworth, their children Regan, Campbell and Barrett.
