Mr. James Thomas Yessick, age 92, passed away on January 4, 2015 at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn, AL. He lived in Jefferson County in Birmingham, AL before moving two years ago to Monarch Estates Retirement Home in Auburn, AL. He worked for the Birmingham News for 43 years until he retired at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Burch Yessick; his parents, John Thomas Yessick and Effie Mae Poole Yessick; and his son, Kenneth Joe Yessick. He is survived by his sons, James Thomas Yessick (Melinda) of Franklin, TN, Donald L. Yessick (Pat) of Auburn, AL; his brother, Gary Wayne Yessick of Arab, AL; his grandchildren, Michelle Yessick Crum (David) of Auburn, AL, Matthew Thomas Yessick of Salt Lake City, UT; and a great grandchild, Henry David Crum of Auburn, AL.
