James (Jim) Edward Wishart, the only child and chosen son of Edward and Lola (Flaherty) Wishart, was taken home by the angels on Friday January 22, 2016 after a valiant fight with liver failure.
Jim was born September 11, 1973 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury. He attended Our Lady of Mercy grammar school, graduated from Plainville High School in 1991 and attended Becker Junior College in Worchester. Jim was a kind, gentle and quiet soul with a wonderful sense of humor. He always had a smile, handshake and hugs abounding upon greeting you. His love of seafood was something he was always ready to partake in; fish were never safe when he was around. He loved music, dancing and having a good time. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, the NY Giants, Notre Dame college football, and UCONN men’s and women’s basketball.
Besides his parents, he leaves his maternal grandfather, Donald Flaherty of Southington; three uncles, Lance Flaherty and his wife, Alice of Plantsville, Leonard Wishart and his wife, Tina of Plainville and Dennis Smith of Harrington, ME; his aunt, Penny LeDuc of Harrington, ME and many special cousins. He also leaves many friends, especially Kevin Guzda, Clifford Holt, and Chris, Elaine and Nicholas Guyette, whom he resided with; his special extended family, Richard, Linda, Ricky, Christine, and Matthew Cieslowski, The Patterson family, his very special grandma, Dusi, and his faithful companion, his dog Murphy Girl. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Susie Flaherty, paternal grandparents, Leonard and Inez (Ross) Wishart, and two uncles, Thomas and Adrian Wishart.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of nurses, doctors, and workers on N-5 at HOCC, especially Molly, Maggie, and Deb, Dr. Gautham and team, and the palliative care team, especially Claire and Karen.
