James W. Wilson transitioned this life on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 after a long illness. He was the youngest of five children born to the late Willie Wilson and Daisy Murphy Wilson in Pollocksville, North Carolina on June 18th, 1940.
He was raised and educated in North Carolina and Washington, DC.
James graduated from Armstrong High School in 1958. He enlisted in the US Army and served as an Army Medic. After his military service he continued in the medical field, working as a certified nursing assistant at Georgetown Hospital, Mar-Selle Convalescent Center, and later at Rock Creek Manor Nursing Home from which he retired. In the mid 1950’s he and his brother Curtis joined Mt Sinai Baptist Church and were baptized under the Pastorship of Rev. Charles Hayes.
He is pre-deceased by his oldest sister, Bernice M. Wilson Powell and his oldest brother, Elmer G. Wilson. Both James and his mother, Daisy Wilson departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on the same day.
He leaves to remember him, one sister, Willie Florence Dent (Colbert); one brother, Curtis R. Wilson (Veronica); many nieces, nephews, cousins, and one aunt, Viola E. Davis (Arthur) of Kinston, North Carolina.
