James William “Bill” Summers, 87, passed away on Sat, Nov 12, 2011 at Louis A, Johnson Veterans Hospital. He was born February 6, 1924 in Clarksburg, the son of the late Alberta Leslie Summers and Gay Mcbee Summers in Clarksburg, WV. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Jeanne Boylen Summers, three daughters; Barbara Sue Mullen and husband Carson Addison Mullen of Emerald Isle, NC, Anne Marie Haught, Bridgeport, WV and Nancy Jeanne Summers and husband, Paul David Casto of Morgantown; five grandchildren, James Hunter Mullen and wife Ashley of Woodbridge VA, Alberta Jeanne Haught and husband Dr. Christopher Lewis of Wexford, Pa, Josey Anne Casto of New Milford, NJ, Kara Suzanne Suthard and husband, Robert Suthard, of Centreville, VA, and Paul Edward Casto of Morgantown; two great grandchildren, William Carson “Liam” Mullen and Victoria Elizabeth Suthard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carol Summers, a grandson, Mathew Carson Mullens, and a brother, Clifford Leslie Summers. Bill was a graduate of Victory High School, class of 42 and a proud Marine, serving in the South Pacific during WW II. He was a locomotive Engineer for the Chessie Railroad system for 43 years. He was a member and Trustee for the North View United Methodist Church in Clarksburg, WV. He was a wonderful husband and father who enjoyed golf and playing canasta.
