James Wells Younge, III was born to Dr. James Wells Younge, Jr. and Mrs. Eugenia Younge, M.ED on August 8, 1950 and joyfully departed from earth on October 17, 2012 to eternity. He had the distinction of being their only child who walked in the footsteps of educators in Durham County, Durham, North Carolina. His childhood was one intertwined with enjoying the life of being the son of a favorite teacher at Little River School as well as being the son of a coach, Professor (North Carolina Central University), Chancellor (Livingstone College) and the Director of Mid-Eastern Atlantic Conference. He was always proud of the accomplishments of his dad and established a scholarship in his honor at North Carolina Central University.
