James “Jim” Ward Clark passed on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He was at home in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with his wife and children. James was born on July 19, 1939, in Alamosa, Colorado to James Robert and Audrey Alene Clark.

His family moved to Cañon City, Colorado in 1940 where he grew up and graduated from Cañon City High School in 1957. After high school graduation, Jim and four of his classmates joined the Navy. Three years into his Navy enlistment, he attended the United States Naval Academy, graduating in 1964. After a long and distinguished Naval career, including nine tours in Vietnam, he retired in 1985 with the rank of Commander. After he retired from the Navy, he worked for Nichols Research in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Clark; daughter, Heather Alene Goldstein; son, James O’Handlin Clark; grandchildren, Sierra Alene Goldstein, Josie Ruth Clark, and Grady James Clark; sisters, Dixie Jorgensen of Greeley, CO and Jane Osborn of Aurora, CO; as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Audrey Clark; brother, Billy Lee Walker; brothers-in-law, Harold “Sonny” Osborn, Julis DeLynn Jorgensen, and William “Bill” Bloom; and sister-in-law, Norma Craig.
