Our precious husband, father and grandfather went home to the lord April 30, 2020 at the age of 89. James was born June 29, 1930 to Ova and Frank Sr Wampol in Birmingham Al. James was a deacon at First Baptist Church Center Point Alabama where he taught Sunday school for many years. James loved the lord and was an example for many. He coached Dixie Youth Baseball 1964-1971. James served during the Korean war and retired from the USPS as manager. He enjoyed working with wood and build many pieces of furniture for the church and others. He traveled and fellowshipped with the missionary group from First Baptist Church, building churches across the US. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jada and two sons James (Jimmy) Jr, Joel and wife Ellen, two grandchildren Dana and Justin, two great grandchildren Tyler and Dustin and his sister Margret Chastain, numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by parents, brother Frank Wampol and sister Linda Ingram.
