James Walter “Jim” Neal, Jr., 88, of Moberly, died Tuesday evening, October 11, 2016, at Ravenwood Terrace. Jim was born December 3, 1927, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to James “Walter”, Sr. and Catherine (Donnelle) Neal.

Jim served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.  He was the former owner and operator of Moberly Electric; retiring in 2015. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Jim was a member of the Moberly Lion’s Club and had served as State President, a former State President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, former board member and treasurer of the Sheltered Workshop, and a very active member of the Moberly Greyhound Booster Club.

He married Tamara “Tammy” Alexander on November 22, 1995 in Moberly, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Kathleen “Kathi” Smith, Paula Joyce Wilson and husband Owen, and Marsha Ann Neal all of Moberly, a step-son Jeffrey Alexander and wife Jennifer of Columbia, four grandchildren James Brandon and Adam Eugene Smith, U.S. Navy SeaBees Petty Officer Jennifer Janette “Jen-e” Neal, and Michael Jordan Young, one great-grandson Brandon Colt Smith, two step-grandchildren, Jake and Jacy Alexander, other relatives and friends.
