James B. “Wally” Waldrip, 54, of Spencer passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Born, November 19, 1955 in Bloomington, he was the son of Howard Waldrip and Phyllis (Fowler) Barger.
Wally was employed at the Sexton-Wilbert Corporation in Bloomington for over 25 years. He also worked as a truck driver for several years. He was the Chapter Director of the Gold Wing Road riders Association of the Local Chapter Z. He was a graduate of Bloomington High School South in 1973.
Wally enjoyed boating and fishing. He was a mechanic for several race teams over the years.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Sandra (Davis) Waldrip, two daughters, Amanda Bridgewater (James) of Bloomington, Heather Sterrett (Jason), one son, Kevin Brown (Marcia) all of Gosport, his father, Howard Waldrip (Marie) of Canton, PA, one sister, Vicki Shahan-Smith (Gary) of Bloomington, one brother, Sheldon D. Barger of Solsberry, his grandmother, Wyrtus Waldrip, his step-father, Richard M. Barger of Bloomington, six grandchildren, Donovan Brown, Denelle Abbitt, Cameron Bridgewater, Austin Heckman, Bailey Sterrett, Hunter Brown, and Trinity Sterrett.
Wally was preceded in death by his son, Travis A. Waldrip (1995), his mother, Phyllis Barger, his brother, Clifton Barger, and a sister, Britten Benjamin.
