James W. Tilley, 76, of Amston passed away peacefully on February 11, 2021 at Hartford Hospital with his loving wife Elaine (Rubacha) Tilley by his side.
Jim was born in Hartford, CT to the late James Tilley and Elizabeth White. He was raised in Wethersfield and graduated from The University of Hartford. He was employed by Pratt and Whitney for over 20 years in the Purchasing Department where he met Elaine, his wife of over 35 years.
Jim was a kind and gentle man who will forever be missed by his family and friends. Jim was a talented carpenter and craftsman which was exhibited in the beautiful home he shared with Elaine and their dog Rocky.
Jim is survived by his son Dave Tilley and his partner Carrie of Massachusetts and daughter Lynn and granddaughter Tabitha of Washington State.
Jim will be sadly missed by sister-in-law Geraldine (Rubacha) Renkert, the widow of William Renkert. Loving nephews and niece, Mark Renkert of Vermont, Bill Renkert and his wife Vickie of Wyoming and Laureen (Renkert) Ross and her husband Charles, of MA. He also leaves many loving grandnieces and nephews who he loved very much.
Jim and Elaine both enjoyed watching sports together. They especially loved the UConn women and all Boston teams, especially the Boston Bruins.
Jim will forever be missed and leaves a giant hole in our hearts.
