James Willie Scruggs was born on October 13, 1944 in Madison, Alabama to Roosevelt Scruggs and Gertha Lee Caudle. He accepted Christ and later joined Mt. Zion CPCA under the leadership of Pastor James Robinson.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to June Moore and to this union was born a daughter, Stephanie Michelle Scruggs-Rice who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, June Moore-Scruggs; daughters, Brenda Edward, Joyce Robinson, Allison Moore-Bolden; son, James Graves; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
