James W. Mahoney, 92, of Pendleton, passed away on January 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born on April 2, 1926 in Anderson, and resided most of his life in Pendleton. James graduated from Fortville High School. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from Fisher Body Division of General Motors, and was also a lifelong farmer. Farming and his family were his life.
James is survived by his children, Mike (Sharla) Mahoney, Mary Rich; daughter-in-law, Kim Mahoney; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Rich, Rebecca Mahoney, Jimmy Mahoney, Jason (Lindsay) Mahoney, Josh (Jessica) Mahoney; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas B. Mahoney; mother, Pearl M. Mahoney; wife, Katheryn Louise Mahoney; son, Thomas Paul Mahoney; son-in-law, John Rich; daughter, Patricia A. Cole; step-son, Bobby Swartzmiller; and seven sisters.
