James U. Wilkins, 80, of Highland Ave., DuBoistown, was called home to be with his Lord, on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010.
Born Oct. 16, 1930, in Warwood, W.Va., he was a son of George A. and Helen Butcher Wilkins. He and his wife Lois (Paulhamus) Wilkins were married Jan. 1, 1952.
Jim was a 1948 graduate of Red Lion High School and was a Marine Corp veteran of the Korean War. Jim retired from the U.S.
He was a member of St. John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church where he had sung in the choir and was involved with Bible Study and Sunday School Class. Jim had attained Eagle Rank with the Boy Scouts, was a member of Leroy O. Buck Post VFW #7863, DuBoistown, and was a member of the 1st Marine Division Association. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #106 F&M, and enjoyed reading.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, James Michael (Susan) Wilkins of New Castle and Mark Sherritt Wilkins of South Williamsport; two granddaughters, Lauran Elise White and Emily Grace White; and a sister, Delores Anderson of York.
He was predeceased by a son, John David Wilkins.
