James L. Bonner, Sr., “Tut” was born September 14, 1942 to the parents of Elease Rayson – Bonner and Odis Bonner. He grew up in the Holland Quarter’s Community in Panola County. He joined Pine Grove Baptist Church as an early age. He went to Carthage schools; Graduating from Turner High School in 1962. He enlisted into the U.S. Army in 1963 serving in Germany and Vietnam. He was discharged from service in January 1967. He married Florida Roberts, September 1966 their union produced 4 children. He worked for the VA hospital for many years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to garden and could fix anything.
James , was preceded in death by his parents, Elease and Odis Bonner, brother Rufus Gates.
James , leaves to cherish his memories: (2) daughters Erika Bonner and Ina Bonner of Carthage, TX; (2) sons James Bonner, Jr and Joshua Bonner of Cypress, TX; (1) Grandson Draven Bonner of Tomball, TX; (4) Brothers, Odis Donald ”O.D.” Bonner (Francis), Odis ”Micky” Bonner Jr of Dallas, Leon Bonner and Lenard “Sonny” Bonner of Lancaster, TX (3) Sisters, Charcy Holland of Pooler, GA Dorothy Alberty of Lawton, OK and Mary Anne Craigan (Arthur) of Waukegan, IL and a host of nieces and nephews.
