Mr. James Timothy “Tim” Smallwood, age 72, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Tim was born on May 30th, 1950 in Valley, Alabama and spent most of his younger years in the Plant City Community. He was a member of Plant City Baptist Church. He was a big racing fan who loved watching NASCAR races and going to them and camping out for the weekend. He also loved watching hockey and pulling for his favorite teams which were the Columbus Cottonmouths and any team his grandchildren played for. He was a retired employee of the West Point Pepperell Research Center and following his retirement he went to work for Valley Pharmacy and became the manager of their Durable Medical Equipment service.
Tim is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Jane Thompson Smallwood; daughter, Kristi Piper (Brent) of Hoover, Alabama; son, Jeremy Smallwood of Lagrange, Georgia; grandchildren, Myah, Trent, Kyle, Kory, and Ayvah Piper and Kolby and Kalyssa Smallwood; great grandchild, Nalah Benton; niece and nephews, Leigh, Geoff, and Brian Phelps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dot and Duck Smallwood; and sister, Kay Calhoun.
