. Darwin, Jr…Born in Decatur, Texas James Thomas was the son of Dr. James T. Darwin and Cecil Taylor Darwin. An avid reader and lifelong learner, he enjoyed languages, music, genealogy, and travel. He was a mathematician, computer scientist, and professor, and was a member of the Methodist Faith. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.James graduated as valedictorian from Decatur High School. From there he attended the University of Texas eventually earning a PhD in an undergraduate he was a member of the Longhorn marching band and ROTC. Lt. Darwin served in the U.S. Air Force for three years before returning to graduate school.James moved to Picayune from Houston a few years after he retired to be close to family. He enjoyed the Pearl River Senior Center and enjoyed drives to the coast and around the area.James was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Cecile Darwin Ingram; nieces and nephews – Laura (Julian) Semilian, James C. Beam-Ingram, and Grant D. (Jill) Ingram; great nephew, Carey Beam-Ingram; great niece, Darwin Beam-Ingram.
