James Eugene “Jim” Swan, 74 of Kissimmee, Florida passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022. Jim was born in Paxton, Illinois the son of Kenneth E. and Ruth Swan. He moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1972 from Carterville, Illinois.

playing golf, was an avid hunter, loved to go fishing, loved to go Saltwater fishing, “fish were bigger, a better fight to catch!”. Jim was also an avid cook and loved smoking chicken on the grill. Jim was avid supporter of law enforcement, he received the Conservationist of the Year award from Florida Wildlife Federation in 1979. He was also a Board Member for Reedy Creek, member on the Metro Planning Board,

Chairman for the Council on Aging, During his Mayor term, he was Mayor Representative to Kissimmee Utility Authority, a member appointed by the City Commission to TOHO Water Authority and President for the Osceola County Historical Society. His promises were to listen, work hard and be fair in every decision.

Jim is survived by his daughter: Sharise Lynn Swan and her husband Israel Yma of St. Cloud, Florida; his sister: Jandace “Jandi” Swan of Normal, Illinois; his granddaughter: Lindsey Yma of St. Cloud, Florida. Jim was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 39 years, Linda Ann Swan, and his brothers: Jeff and Jay Swan.
