Mr. Sevier peacefully passed away at a hospital in Temecula, California. He is the husband of Mrs. Dorothy Sevier.

JAMES SEVIER was born on February 5, 1939 in Augusta, AR. He was the eldest of nine children born to the union of Alma and Alexander Sevier. James professed a faith in Christ at an early age and joined St.

In September of 1961, James married Geri Lay and this union was blessed with five children.

James later moved his membership to Mt.

James was well-known for his delicious bar-b-que that was finger licking good, fresh fried corn and peach cobbler.

James was employed with Alpha Beta Markets as night shift Store Manager and SDG&E as a meter reader for several years and later in the machine shop until retiring after twenty-six years. After retirement, James worked part-time as a mail carrier for the hospitals in Temecula and at Wal-Mart in the Maintenance Department until his health recently started to decline.

In October 1991, James married Dorothy MacDonald. Their marriage was blessed for twenty-one years until his departure from this earth.

During James’ short illness, he admonished his wife Dorothy, one of his daughters, Gwen and a granddaughter, Genae saying, “Don’t be sitting around here worrying about me, if you are worrying then you are not praying”. On Thursday, July 3, 2014, James boarded the Old Ship of Zion around 5:10 P.M. that had set sail bound for Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Alexander Sevier; sister, Ann Bobo, brothers, Will and John L. Sevier; grandmother, Alberta Hunter; uncles, Ira Toliver and Edwina Moore and Aunt, Lorraine Mitchell.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Dorothy; children, Gwen, Jimmy, Cheryl, Carol and Jason Sevier, Quin, Cynthia, Ray, Kenny, Dexter and Pernell McDonald; brothers, Mack, Hubert, Rodney and Michael Sevier; sister, Cheryl R. Sevier; aunt, Ola Toliver; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
