James Scott Forsyth Jr., age 69, of Rapid River, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at his home with his loving family by his side.

Scott was born May 8, 1951, in Austin, TX, son of James Scott Sr. and Mary Jo (Martin) Forsyth. He was raised in Houston, TX and lived there for most of his life. Houston was also where he met Denise, and together they were united in marriage. They have spent 34 years together making wonderful memories. They raised their children in Houston, and later moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Scott worked as a machinist since he was 18 years old, working for many different companies along the way but retiring with Craig Instruments. Scott was also a surfer, and an avid guitar player. He enjoyed watching his children grow, teaching them how to surf and cheering them on at every swim meet. His love for sports, music, nature, and the ocean will forever be passed on by his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by many.

Scott is survived by his wife Denise, son Brent (Meriah) Forsyth of Menominee, daughters Crystal (Pat) Forsyth of Gladstone, Ann Forsyth of Rapid River, and Sarah (Matt) Marshall of Coleman, MI, 10 grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Scott is preceded in death by his parents, and brother George Forsyth.
