James Ruggieri, age 65 years, of Plymouth, formerly of Braintree, died on Friday, October 22, 2021 at his home, after being stricken suddenly. He was the husband of Marjorie P. (Marsney) Ruggieri, and the son of the late Mauro and Margaret (Shippie) Ruggieri. Born and raised in Cambridge, James lived for thirty years in Braintree before moving to Plymouth three years ago. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War time. He worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service until his recent retirement. During his younger days, James was known as “Jimmy Jet” on his high school basketball team at St. Mary’s High School in Cambridge. Jimmy was instrumental in leading St. Mary’s of Cambridge to the Catholic Central League and Division III Championships in 1973 and 1974. He enjoyed the peace and tranquility of walking, going to the beach, and reading.Besides his loving wife Margie, James is survived by his children, Kristen Margaret Ruggieri and her fiancé Mike Tramontozzi of Quincy, James Joseph Ruggieri and his wife Sorada of Randolph and Brian Christopher Ruggieri of Braintree, his sisters Maureen Stanton and her husband Jay of North Reading and Sharon Legier and her husband Richard of Burlington, as well as, his much-loved nieces and nephews.
