James Roy Starks, Sr., age 86, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Hamilton Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 22, 1930, to Clifford and Carrie Starks. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Starks; son, James “Jimmy” R. Starks, Jr.; parents; Clifford and Carrie Starks; brother, Troy Starks; sisters, Annie Jo Allman, Louise Hardin, Margaret Gravitt; and a grandson, Anthony Cooper. Roy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Diane Starks of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Michael Tedder of Chatsworth, Carol Starks of Dalton, Teresa Starks and Gerald Parks of Dalton, Sharon and Adrian Newton of Chatsworth; 20 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren; chosen daughter and son, Vickie and Tony Bartczak and family; several nieces and nephews also survive.
