James was born September 7, 1936 in LaSalle to Arthur and Bertha (Siekierka) Miller. He married Melody Zimmerman on November 27, 1968 at Sacred Heart Church, Granville. James worked for Motor Wheel in Mendota and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Peru. He enjoyed collecting clocks, square dancing and being with family. James was most proud of his restored 1951 Ford Truck.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Melody of Peru; two children, Terry (Jennifer) Miller of Arizona and Tonya (Josh) Benckendorf of Peru; seven grandchildren, Brett, James, Nick, and Courtney Miller of Arizona and Brian, Brenton, and Bradley Benckendorf of Peru; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene Rolando of Jonesville and Patricia Muhich of Mesa, AZ, and many wonderful and thoughtful friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Arthur Miller and Gerald Miller and one sister, Adele Kaczmarek.
