James Robert Wood, 91, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., passed away October 25. He was residing in Denton so that he could be close to both of his daughters.

James was born March 15, 1923, in Augusta, Ill. He married his beloved wife, the late Eileen Simons, in Elkhart on February 15, 1947.

James retired from the New York Central Railroad and was the owner of a small telecommunications company known as Penwood Sales. He was a proud veteran of World War II.

James was greatly loved by his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his three children, Christine Abbott and her husband Clayton of Arlington, Roberta Petric and her husband James of Denton and Carey Wood and his wife Teresa of Indianapolis.

He is survived by his five grandchildren, Jennifer Petric-Spence and her husband Jordan of Colleyville, Christine Petric of New York City, Hailey and Lynsey Wood of Indianapolis and Brian Doyle of Gainsville, Fla. James is also survived by his great-grandson, Roman James Spence of Colleyville.
