James (Jim) Robert Brown, 67, passed away on Sept. 26, 2017 in Meridian, ID. Jim was born to Robert and Virginia Brown in Boise ID on February 17, 1950. In December 1968, he joined the Navy, serving on the USS Coral Sea off the coast of Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in December of 1974.
In 1971, Jim met and married Diane Kay Hofert in Boise, ID. From that union their daughter Angellia Marie Brown was born in Oct of 1974. Jim worked as a certified Subaru mechanic for many years. With his family and friends, he enjoyed camping, motorcycle riding, dirt bike riding and the races, working on a pit crew at Meridian Speedway from the late 70’s until the mid 80’s.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Angellia Marie Shaffer, four grandchildren, Kaylee, Isik, Isabelle and Sophie. His brothers Steve (Charlene) Brown, Robert Brown, his sister Pamela Brown and his beloved dog Annie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Virginia Brown.
