James Robert Blair, Jr. NORTHPORT – James Robert “Jim” Blair, Jr., of Northport, Ala., went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 20, 2017, following a brief illness. He was 79. Jim was surrounded by family and friends at the time of his passing. Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Robert Blair, Sr.; mother, Dorothy Thrasher Blair; and brother, Dr. William Allen Blair. He is survived by his loving wife, Amy, of fifty seven years and one month; his son, Christopher Brian (Robin), grandchildren, Tyler and Kristen; son, James Robert Blair III; brothers, John Emmet Blair (Kay), Frederick Conrad Blair and Carl Thomas Blair (Suzie); and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a graduate of Fairfield High School and attended Birmingham Southern College. He retired after serving twenty-two years in the military with the United States Coast Guard reaching the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
