On September 19, 2021, we lost our husband, father, son, and brother James Robert Berggren – much too soon. James was born to Jeffrey Berggren and (Mary) Clarice Berggren (Spaulding) on January 4th, 1987, in Fort Frances, Ontario. Surviving him are his wife, Tiffany Berggren (McDugle), his daughters: Ellamay and Annmarie, his siblings: Eric, Valerie, Jenny, Joel, Jordon, Jacki, Jeremiah, and Joshua. He was recently preceded in death by his father, Jeff.

James was absolutely steadfast, in life and faith. He was a quiet and gentle person. He was a kind, funny brother, and a loving and supportive son. He was a wise father who taught his daughters to be smart and strong and unique. He and his wife Tiffany were married on August 7, 2010, at Bois D’Arc Baptist Church. The two were best friends and the best team. He was a provider and gave his three girls love, security, and a life rich with laughter. To our family, his loss feels like a mortal wound.

James was a musician and a singer. He was a craftsman, taught by his father. He was a mechanic. He loved symmetry and organization. He loved video games, especially ones that allowed him to spend time playing with his many friends and family who are scattered far and wide. He was a collector of small things and vehicles. James loved animals, especially dogs and dogs loved James. James loved time with his family and friends playing board games or cards, talking, eating, and laughing. He adored his many nieces and nephews. James loved Jesus and strove all his life to follow His example. He was a generous and faithful man of God.

James attended Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology and graduated with an Associate in Applied Science – Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology Natural Gas Compression in 2010. He worked at Energy Transfer for 12 years. He had home churches in Illinois, Oregon, and Texas and friends who loved and admired him across the country.

Our hearts are broken. However, we take comfort in the hope of heaven and in Christ’s love. We have no choice but to believe that our loving heavenly Father knows the plan He has for us; a plan to prosper us and to give us a future and a hope. We are thankful and highly blessed to have had such an exemplary person in our family and for every moment we had with him. We cannot wait to see him again one day.
