James R. Zimmerman passed away comfortably at his home on June 17, 2016, with his family at his bedside.
Jim is survived by his wife Christina, a son, James and a daughter, Kathryn (Matthew) Keaney and two beloved grandchildren, Quintin, 5 and Layla 4. Jim is also survived by his father, Jerry Zimmerman of Broomfield, CO, his brother, Dana (Terri) Zimmerman of Palisade, CO, two sisters, Paula Taylor of Albuquerque, NM and Jeri Zimmerman of Clifton, CO. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Zimmerman, and his brother, Keith Zimmerman.
Jim was born a patriot. He proudly served in the US Navy as a Nuclear Machinist Mate on Submarines and also served on various surface craft.
Jim loved living in Colorado. He was an avid fisherman, a gardener, a sculptor in wood and stone, a painter, a woodworker, and a man of knowledge and wisdom. Jim had a sense of humor and enjoyed sharing his life experiences with everyone or anyone who would listen. He was loved deeply by his family and will be missed greatly.
