James Richard Young, 72, of Eldersburg by way of Baltimore by way of West By God Virginia, slipped the surly bonds of earth on tax day, 15 April 2021. Born on 02 July 1948, he was the son of Ellen Louise Young (née Swisher) and James Edward Young. He was the beloved husband of Madeline Young.

Before retiring, he managed a Panasonic repair center in between racing his Miata through the Tennessee mountains, caring deeply for every pet he’s ever owned, and being Baltimore’s finest radio and basement-party DJ, where in the 1960s he introduced Motown hits and The Trashmen to its unsuspecting residents until he shelved the turntables in favor of providing for his family and producing weekly radio mass for the patients at Mercy Medical Center.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter Judith of Westminster MD, son Michael of Durham NC, and pug Chloe of Eldersburg, all of whom will miss him dearly, warts and all.
