James Richard “Rick” Felton, 65 of Bayville, NJ died on Friday May 25, 2012 at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. Born in Clarkburg, WV Rick lived in Howell, NJ before moving to Bayville in 1984. He was a police officer in Washington DC in the K9 unit before becoming Vice President of Loss Prevention with Saker Shop Rites in Howell, NJ for over 30 years. Mr. Felton served in the US Army during Vietnam.
He was a member of the American Legion George P. Vanderveer Post 129 in Toms River, NJ, the VFW Post 9503 Bayville, NJ, Cootie Pup Tent NJ 095, Disabled American Veterans, and also a Free and Accepted Mason Mount Herman Lodge #179 Hyattsville MD and 32nd Degree Valley of Washington Orient, District of Columbia. Rick is preceded in death by his father Hoy K. Felton.
Surviving is his wife of 40 years Nancy M. Felton, his mother Helen G. (Wimer) Felton, one son Christopher Felton and his wife Jennifer of Toms River, NJ, two grandchildren CJ and Tanya, two sisters Linda Roscoe of Versailles, Kentucky and Bonnie McGlumphy of Hundred, West Virginia, and also many nieces and nephews.
