James Reidy, Jr., 79, of Bristol and also of Venice, FL, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Bristol Hospital
He was born April 29, 1929 in Springfield, MA, son of the late James and Julia (O’Brien) Reidy. Jim was a graduate of Cathedral High School and received his B.A. and Masters Degree from Syracuse University. He had served two tours in the U.S. Army, one during World War II, and he was discharged as a Captain from the finance corp. He was employed at Revere Copper and Brass in Rome NY, was vice president and treasurer of the Bristol Brass and retired as chief financial officer at Fletcher Terry. He was a member and past president of Chippanee Golf Club and was a member of the Bristol Hospital board of directors.
Jim is survived by his special friend, Luella Wyman of Bristol and also of Venice FL; his four sons, David M. Reidy of Bristol, Patrick J. Reidy and his wife, Cynthia of Otisco, NY, Thomas E. Reidy and his wife, Kathleen and their daughter, Haylee of Middlefield, and Robert Reidy of Wilmington, MA; his daughter, Sheila T. Reidy and Janet of Watertown, his former wife, Jean C. Reidy of Watertown; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, Stephen Reidy and James Reidy.
