James Ray Fluker, a native of Rahway, N.J., and a resident of Tuscaloosa, made his earthly transition on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2020, while at DCH Regional Hospital in Tuscaloosa. He was born Nov. 18, 1964 to James C. Fluker and Frankie Slater Fluker.
A 1982 graduate of Charles Henderson High School in Troy, he continued his education by attending Troy University. The family relocated back to Coffeeville and he attended Alabama Southern Community College.
Following college, James enlisted in the United States Army. He was a retired Relief Captain at Parker Towing, Inc.
Preceding him in death was his father, grandparents, aunt and uncles.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted mother, Frankie Slater Fluker of Coffeeville; daughter, Amy Law of Butler; sister, Donna Fluker of Coffeeville; brother, Fred (Easter) Fluker of Birmingham; three aunts, Pearl Slater Bell of Coffeeville, Lucille Slater Rocker of Choctaw Bluff and Mary Slater of Uniontown; one uncle, Earl (Gladys) Slater of Lemon Grove, Calif.; with a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends.
