Freeman, James R.
On December 6, 2011, James Ralph Freeman “Buddy”, age 71, of Glen Burnie, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his family. James was born on October 11, 1940 in Tom’s Creek, Virginia to William and Annie Faye Freeman. After serving honorably in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1959, Mr. Freeman had a career in the grocery business for many years. He was Dept. Manager at several food chains in the area including Pantry Pride and Super Fresh supermarkets. Later in his life, he started his own business, Freeman’s Top Line Taxi Co., and stayed in the cab business until his death. Mr. Freeman enjoyed fishing and crabbing, along withplaying poker, horseshoes and going to the race track.
Mr. Freeman was the loving father of Rita Dicus and her husband Roland, Sharon O’Brocki and her husband Phil and James, Joseph, and John Freeman. He was the former husband of Maryann and Stacy, and loving brother of Bill Freeman, Sheila Freeman and Jean Bussard. He was loving grandfather to Dawn, Angel, Philip, Alexandria, Allen, Emily, Chelsea, Valerie, James, Racheal, Joanne, Sherry, Jack, Justin and Collin, and loving great grandfather of David, Tara, James, Aiden and one on the way. In closing, James Freeman, our father, lived life on his own terms, loved his family and gave all he could, the best way he knew how, from his heart.
