James R. “Jim” Brush, 73, of Germantown Hills, formerly of Peoria passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016. Jim was born on October 14, 1942 in Marietta, Illinois to Gale and Fern (Taylor) Brush.
Jim grew up in Bushnell, Illinois and later moved to the Downing Missouri area. It was there that he met the love of his life, Brenda Riley. They were married on July 25, 1961.
Brenda survives as well as his three children, Kim (Jeff) Craft of Germantown Hills, Kara (Greg) Tucker of East Peoria and Kyle Brush of Metamora. Jim is also survived by two brothers, Dan (Marlene) Brush of Memphis, MO, Bill (Cathy) Brush of Poplar Bluffs MO, and one sister, Georgia (Bert) Kelsey of Peoria; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim moved to the Peoria area in 1964. He began a career as a meat cutter for over 10 years. He later opened his own business known as “Jim Brush Antiques”.
