James R. Hanenburg, 71, of Harbert, Michigan died peacefully at his home, Monday morning, January 7, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. James was born March 10, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois to Dewey P. and Christine (DeMooy) Hanenburg. He married Elsie Stienstra on May 10, 1963 in Chicago.

He worked with his father at Jamesway Moving and Storage as agents for United Van Lines, and later operated his own company, Thompson Moving and Storage. After retirement he enjoyed spending time at his home in Harbert with his family. He also enjoyed fishing. James was a member of the Harbert Community Church.Survivors include his wife, Elsie; sons, James (Tamara) Hanenburg of Cedar Lake, Indiana and Jeffrey (Lisa) Hanenburg of Munster, Indiana; grandchildren, James, Brittany, Brandon, Noelle, Seth, Douglas, Aaron and Morgan, sister-in-law Francine of Frankfort, Illinois, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Rich and Joyce Stienstra and Ted and Trenice Postema, as well as many nieces and nephews. His brother, Thomas preceded him in death.
