James R. DiGiovanni, age 80, of Elgin, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Mercy Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was born December 24, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois the son of James and Theresa (Ippolito) DiGiovanni.
Jim was a skilled union carpenter for 54 years and was a proud member of Local Carpenters Union 58. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, scuba diving and skiing. Jim was an avid motorcyclist and loved to travel whenever he could.
He is survived by his children Anne (Sean Price) DiGiovanni of Geneva, James J. DiGiovanni of Elgin, and Theresa M. (Jack) Ratley of New Mexico; grandchildren Ethan, Nicholas, and Jack Price, Jonathan (Hayley), Christopher, and Destiny Vanderlois; mother of his children Karen (Alan) Scheufler of Streamwood; sister Rosemary (Constantine) Cataldo of Arlington Heights; and many other dear relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Joseph, and niece Terese Cataldo.
