Age 90, of St. Paul
He was born on January 9, 1927 in St. Paul. Preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Wini Bettenburg; brother, Ted; and daughter-in-law, Kristi. Survived by beloved wife, Mary Doyle Bettenburg; his children, Ann, Jody (Marty), Thomas (Sue), Mary (Scott), Phil, John (Margie), Patrick, Daniel (Ellen) and Michael (Kerry); sister-in-law, Patti Glass; nieces, Rita and Barbara; nephew, Rick (Jan); cousins, Kathleen, Mary and Susan. Loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graduated from St. Thomas Academy, North Dakota State University and St. Paul College of Law. Practiced law for 61 years. Member of the Minnesota and Ramsey County Bar Association and Minnesota Trial Lawyers Association. Served as president of RCBA. He was a member of the Minnesota National Guard and retired as a colonel in the JAG division. Jim enjoyed many activities including golf, hunting and fishing. The family wishes to thank the aides at the Living Center and especially the HealthEast Hospice nurses and Dr. Giefer for their compassionate care.
