Mr. James Phillips of Tampa passed away Friday, August 7, 2020.
Mr. James Phillips was a native of Samson, Alabama and a resident of Tampa for 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. Reed and Annie Phillips-Bowens; daughter, Tammy Smith; son, Carl Dennard and brother, Gregory Phillips.
He leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Michael Smith (Van) and James Phillips, Jr. (Jalaie); two daughters, Carla Dennard (Nick) and Tracey Dennard; five grandsons, Michael Sr., Travis, Darius, Jason and James III; six granddaughters, Jessica, Alicia, Kim, Keona, Janiyah and Jakiyah; 11 great grandchildren; five brothers, Monte Bowens (Charlene), Darrell Phillips (Kenia), Ronnie Phillips (Veleta), Donnie Phillips and John Reed; four sisters, Carla Smith (Sterling), Elizabeth Smith, Belinda Bunda (Carlton) and Tracy Lee; best friend, Chuck Singletary; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
