James P. Lockamy (“Jim”), age 86, a resident of Kansas City, Missouri, since 2021, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, August 15, 2022. Jim was born on September 7, 1935, in Roseboro, North Carolina, to Minson and Eva Lockamy. Prior to moving to Kansas City to be close to his daughter and family, Jim was a longtime resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

He is survived by his wife, Martha “Marty” Lockamy, of Kansas City, Missouri; his daughter, Katie Lockamy Lynch, and her husband, Drew Lynch, of Overland Park, Kansas; his grandchildren, Emmie Lynch (8), Scarlet Lynch (6), and Hunter James Lynch (4); his sister, Mabel Lockamy Hall, and her husband, Roland Hall, of Roseboro, North Carolina; and his brother, Howard Lockamy, of Prattville, Alabama. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Lockamy, and his father, Minson Lockamy.

Jim is a veteran who served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. He spent many years working for Piedmont Airlines, and he spent much of his life working as a car salesman at Galles Oldsmobile and Cadillac in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jim loved people and talking to people, and he truly loved getting to know people by helping them find a great vehicle. Jim was a longtime member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he volunteered as “door greeter” to meet and talk with everyone who entered the doors. Jim was a beloved husband, father, brother, and grandpa, and he is dearly missed.
