James P. Fisher, 71, formerly of New Britain, passed away at the RegalCare of Torrington on Friday, May 1, 2020 after battling COVID-19. James was born in New Britain on February 3, 1949 to the late Josephine (Scalora) and James H. Fisher. He received his undergraduate degree from Fairfield University and a graduate degree in creative writing from Wichita State University. Jim was a freelance writer who was proud of his typing speed and accuracy. He loved reading, taking long walks and creating different forms of is survived by his brother, Kenn Fisher and wife Maureen Ayotte; his sister, Deborah West and husband Michael; his two nieces, Jessica Storry and husband Richard and Lauren Koch and husband David.
