James W. Oldham, age 80 of Midland died at the MidMichigan Medical Center on Saturday, February 16, 2013. The son of the late William A. and Geneva (Purdy) Oldham was born on November 22, 1932, in Flint, Michigan. He moved to Gladwin and later to Midland as a youth, graduating from Midland High School. James served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. On February 23, 1957, he married the former Margery Popps. He worked for Northwood University for over 25 years, retiring in 1982 as Director of Maintenance Operations. Jim was a member of the American Legion Post #165 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the family cabin in Mio and most of all enjoyed his family.

Jim is survived by his wife Margery, his son Brian Oldham, and his daughters Barbara Sage of Luzerne and Jan Abbe of Midland. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Therese (Dan) Lunsford, Brian Oldham, Jeremy Oldham, Brent Oldham, David (Jennifer) Sage, Stacy Sage, Regan (John) Duperon, and Kevin (Lisa) Abbe; 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother William Oldham of Gladwin.
