James Neal McCord, 84, of Alexandria, passed away on August 25, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on February 10, 1931 in Frankton, Indiana. James graduated from Anderson High School. He served his country as a sergeant in Army in the gunnery during the Korean War. He retired in 1982 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 32 years of service. He loved to work around the house and in the yard. He was a life member of American Legion in Pendleton and Anderson, VFW Post #266, Amvets, 40 & 8 and had formerly been a member of the Eagles in Anderson.

James is survived by his loving spouse, Jan (Mullins) McCord, children, Pam Smith, Clifford (Misty) McCord, James “Jake” (Lorrie) McCord, Jr., Garry (Debbie) McCord, step-children, Kelley Jent, Kimberly A. Summers and Karen N. Greene, brother, Tommy (Star) McCord, 13 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy McCord, mother, Mary Ellen (Smith) McCord, father, Lawrence Herman McCord, and brother, Richard McCord.
