James Nathan Nate Crenshaw October 5, 1981-November 22, 2015 James Nathan Nate Crenshaw died at 6:11pm, Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Marion General Hospital. He was born to Donna Phillips Crenshaw, who survives. Nate attended Marion High School and Oak Hill High School, where he graduated in 2000. He loved music and played the piano, guitar, bass guitar, and banjo. He was a member of the band 4:20 in high school, and considered his time performing with Hunter White, Tony Eder, and Ryan Shaffer as some of the very best days of his life. In 1998, Nate received a heart transplant at Riley Hospital for Children. He spent the remaining years of his life enjoying the opportunity to love his family and further develop his talents and interests. Nate enjoyed live music, supporting local musicians, and attending the concerts of his favorite band, Phish. He enjoyed taking music lessons from Doug Weaver at Marion Music and Sound, and as a talented visual artist, participating in pottery and ceramics courses with Randy Gunyon at the Community School of the Arts. Nate was blessed by a generous organ donor that gave him 17 additional years of life, and upon his death, donated his corneas in hopes of giving someone else the opportunity of a life with sight. Nate is survived by his sister, Amanda Crenshaw Tucker (Willie); a niece, Layla Tucker; grandparents, James and Betty Crenshaw; his father, Jim Crenshaw; and four aunts, two uncles, and thirteen cousins. Nate was preceded in death by grandparents Leonard Ray and Vivian Ann Phillips, Uncle Jason Crenshaw, and dear friend Julie Coulter.
