Reverend James R. Murphy of Tampa, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Reverend Murphy was a native of Venice, Florida and a resident of Tampa for 46 years. He attended Venice High School and later received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from St. Leo University. Reverend Murphy enlisted and served in the United States Army from 1975 and was Honorably Discharged in 1983.

Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by: his father, Roger Murphy; and sister, Elizabeth Baker, mother-in-law, Viola Jones, father-in-law, Sgt.

He leaves to cherish his memory:  his devoted wife of 38 years, Queen Diana Murphy; mother, Elizabeth Murphy; 2 children, Ebony Jones and Latonya Nicole Lloyd and husband, Clifford Lloyd; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Escobar, Malcolm Dawkins, Trinity Murphy, Donsheka Poole, Johan Sheard, and Clifford Lloyd III, 2 great grands, Matthew Escobar Jr. and Aubriel Nicole Raines; brother, Howard Murphy; 5 sisters, Elma Godwin and husband, James Godwin of Tallahassee, FL, Barbara Parham of Queens, NY; Gloria Murphy, Ruby Murphy, and Geraldine Murphy, all of Tampa, FL, brother-in-law, Nathaniel Oliver and wife, Sarah of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters-in-law, Darlene Bivins and husband, Willie Bivins of Tallahassee, FL, Brenda Williams and husband Alvin Williams , Linda Moore, Valerie Marshall and husband Gregory Marshall, Debra Miles; great aunts, Mattie Clark and Lillie Mae Brown, both of Arcadia, FL; devoted niece, Christine Blakely, and a host of other relatives and friends.
