Lieutenant Colonel James W Mulford, USA (Ret), of Boerne TX, age 88 passed away on Sunday, 22 June 2008. He was born on July 12, 1919 in Alameda California. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth Irene LaRue. He is survived by his children James W Mulford Jr., Bruce E Mulford and Ruthie I Mulford, twelve grandchildren and four great graduated from High School at Hill Military Academy, Portland OR in 1938 and received a BS Degree in law enforcement from Northeastern University in Boston. Service to his country included over 20 years in the Army with service in France during WW II and the Korean War. He was highly decorated and was the recipient of the Army Soldiers Medal for Heroism.Following retirement from the Army in 1966 he worked as the Chief Probation Officer for Middlesex County, Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He was a Mason and was active with Disabled American Veterans, the Military Police Association, the Shriners and the was passionate about family, food, travel, model trains, Florida Gators Football and NBA Spurs Basketball. He was a man of honor, strength, compassion and patience with the zeal to live life to its fullest. His presence and smile will be greatly
