James Monroe Gilbert, 77, Lake Worth, Florida, died August 1, 2003 at John F. Kennedy Hospital-Boyton Beach, Florida due to heart failure. He was born September 30, 1925 in Medora, Indiana, and resided in Lake Worth, Florida. He lived in Anderson until 1978, when he and Rosalie moved to Lake Worth, Florida. He and his wife, Rosalie, owned Jim Gilbert Auto Body at 1614 Jackson Street in Anderson. He retired in 1975 due to heart problems. He was a graduate of Anderson High School in 1943. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 16 and served in Guam and Iwo Jima. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Lake Worth. Jim enjoyed pheasant hunting, woodworking and piloting small engine planes out of the Anderson Municipal airport. Jim became reacquainted with Ladonna Gregg Stohler of Anderson, Indiana who also graduated from Anderson High School. They were married in 1995 and have lived in Lake Worth, Florida ever since. Jim is also survived by his three daughters, Manna MacDonald of Indianapolis; Marianne & husband Greg Almquist of Woodstock, Georgia; and Linda Law of Roanoke, Virginia. His three sisters: LaVonne Brown of Brownstown, Indiana; Dorothy Deming of Mulberry, Florida and Phyllis Copeland of Palm City, Florida. He is also survived by a stepson, Mike Stohler of Denver, Colorado and stepdaughter, Joanna & husband Gary Godfrey of Avon, Indiana. He had 7 grandchildren, James Kelly MacDonald, Adrian S. MacDonald, Mary Rose MacDonald, Anne E. Almquist, John Almquist, Gayle M. Godfrey Bruce and Lee E.M. Godfrey. One great grandchild, Alyssa T. Bruce. He was preceded by his wife whom he married in 1946 at Park Place Church of God: Rosalie Hensley Gilbert in 1992. Father: Benjamin Harrison Gilbert. Mother: Adrian Eck Gilbert Gibson.
